I'm looking for a replacement for my Asus G1 which has pretty much died. New HDD, battery, (maybe CPU) and power connection solder required.
Requirements:
Robust: I travel a lot...so thinking SSD HDD.
Don't need any extra features although a card reader would be handy.
At least 1680x1050 screen.
Quad core: Great for PS, Quickpar, HD video editing.
6gig ram min.
Decent GFX. Only for very occasional gaming.
Around a 15.6" screen: I'll go 16" max
Dell sales have ***** me off so they are out. Poor experience of Acer so they are out. Have looked at Asus but they seem to be really expensive now.
Any suggestions or experience welcomed.
