Laptop £400 MAX

Hi. This is for my mum and dad but mainly my mum. she likes to browse the net and the odd app game. Whats the best for this price thanks. Also is 8.1 standard in all PC/laptops if you get windows 8?. We was at curry's yesterday looking and it said windows 8 and guy what worked there came over and while talking my mum said ha windows 8 on it. I said it be 8.1. the guy said no this is just windows 8 but could upgrade for you to 8.1 if you wanted it. We just said we will think about it for now. Also when you buy a laptop do you get a windows OS disc as every time my mum and dad looked for one they said you don't get one as you need to buy a USB stick to back it up. Every time I have bought a PC I have had the windows disc every time.

Most modern Laptops do not come with a recovery disk, if you buy a specialised laptop then it should come with a disc.

As long as the laptop has a DVD drive or USB port it is a straight forward process to make a recovery disk. The laptops in the purple shop will also should have a recovery partition as standard.

If a laptop only comes with Windows 8 it is easily updated to 8.1 via the Microsoft store.

For better bang for bucks look to get them a refurbished laptop either look to Dell or Asus.
