Laptop £500 max

I need a laptop for portability. I've got an i7 desktop. So I don't need anything with a huge amount of power and needs to run Windows 7 pretty smoothly. Will not be used for gaming but I may watch some HD stuff.

Minimum specs: I'd like a Core 2 duo. 2GB RAM. Good Battery life. Lightweight.

I've had a look at the Dell Vostro 1720. I don't really know much about the Vostro series. Are they any good?

i just ordered a dell studio 15 with an i7 cpu. £650 for the basic spec, using cashback and discount codes. surely worth the extra £150 on your budget.
