Hi,
I am currently trying to find a nice, stylish laptop for generally being able to work on Photoshop, and play games such as GTA IV. I am not sure about specs, though am I looking at laptops with quite a high processing power for the image editing? Also are there graphics cards that are particularly effiecient in this kind of thing, or will any good GPU do?
I have been looking at the Sony Vaio VGN-FW11M and similar models, but they seem to be out of stock pretty much everywhere. I have also had a look at the Dell studio range. I really like their artistic design covers, however I have been greatly put off by reliablity issues, that I have read about, and also the keyboard flex.
I preferably do not want any laptop over 16", that is also not too heavy. Does anyone have any ideas / recomendations?

Many Thanks.

A pretty tall order with your budget I think unless you try the Dell outlet. I hear what you are saying about problems, but I am not convinced they have more issues than anyone else.
Your game needs a fast CPU and Photoshop will likely love a fast CPU and be memory hungry.
The Primo Pro Mobile here http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=LT-011-OK
is £726.74 when upgraded with 4Gb RAM, 320Gb 7200Rpm hard disk and a P8600 CPU. You also need to add an OS.
The Sony's around at your price point have slow CPU's from what I have seen.
Graphics wise aim for an ATI 3650 or nVidia 8600GT minimum I would say.

The only problem with the laptop linked is the 9300M GS. Its a pretty poor GPU for your requirements. Like luffy said look out for ATI 3650s and 9600M GTs or higher. Try to avoid the nvidia 8000M series as there is problems with GPUs dying prematurely, that and they are old tech.

Well yeh, I have one (as in sig) and got it for £636. However AFAIK, HP no long produce the DV5, or at least with the powerful 9600M GT GPU. If you can find one thou, its a cracking laptop.

Ok, thnx, ill have a look at the hp's again. I was once looking to get a 14" hp, but the guy in the shop said he recomended Sony instead lol. Need a special offer:D. The special edition hp's looked pretty cool too.
