Looking for a laptop for around £600 - £700 mainly for Word processing, powerpoint and excel, but would also like to do a bit of light gaming. Nothing too demanding, just Garry's Mod, F1 2013, Civ 5, AOE 3 maybe some TF2 and BF4 if possible, although I know that's unlikely with the budget.

Would want it to be about 14 or 15 inches screen size and full HD. Would be carrying it a lot so light weight would be a plus. Would rather go for a slightly lower spec if the build quality is better. And decent battery life is a must. Because of the battery life I was thinking of getting a Macbook Air, but obviously wouldn't be able to do any gaming.

What would you guys suggest?

Thanks.

have a look at hp envy.

i got mine for 800 but you can get lower spec

mine is
i7 4700QM 2.4ghz
8GB
750GB hdd
740M
1080p 15" screen!

MSI CX61 - CX61 2OD-275UK

Stick that in Google and you'll find it for £699.97

MSI CX61 Haswell
Intel® Core™ i7-4702MQ Haswell Quad Core Processor
15.6" Full HD Screen
Microsoft Windows 8 64bit
8GB DDR3 RAM
1000GB 7200RPM HDD
DVD-RW
Dedicated GT 740M 2GB Graphics

On the same website you can pay a bit more for a Blu-Ray player and some more RAM, depends on what you need.

A lesser-equipped version (CPU, GPU, screen) was getting 4/5 star reviews back in May which I am sure you can find. I'm considering the above one for myself.

EDIT - I can't read. You mentioned your need for battery life and this only achieves 3.5 to 4 hours at best, but I'll leave the info just in case you are still interested.
