Hey guys, I've posted a thread a few days ago regarding my laptop. I just found out that the adapter is damaged so I want to buy a new one.

But before I want to buy it I want to check whether my friend's laptop adapter works on mine or not.

My original laptop adapter:

OUTPUT:
19 V , 4.74 A

My friend's laptop adapter:

OUTPUT:
19 V , 3.42 A

As you can see they have different output currents. Does that mean it is dangerous if I plug my mate's adapter to mine? Or will it be okay and work fine as well?

Thanks for your comments! :)

Saying that, you might actually overwork the power supply and cause that to burn out as it can't deliver the amps needed.

For a short runs it would still work but won't charge the battery.
