Forget about a Pentium 4 based laptop. They're slow and use a lot of power.

The Turion is basically an Athlon 64, in this case a 3000. It will be faster than Celeron M based notebooks, and faster than a lot of Pentium Ms, up to about the Pentium M 745.

The Pentium M 750 and above, along with the Core Duos should be faster than that Turion. The Intel chips will all be better with battery life, but AMD chips are getting better at this.

This is just a rough estimate, you'll need to dig up some benchmarks to be exact.

If you can find one, a Core 2 Duo (Merom) processor is the best laptop chip around at the moment. Uses the least power, and gives the best performance. Its intels only 64bit laptop processor, as the older Core Duo's(Yohan) were only 32bit.
