Hi all,

my other half is wanting to purchase a laptop, with the following requirements:

plenty of mem for photos and music (2gigs?)
wireless adapter
not too weighty and a decent sized screen 15"+
won't be obsolete in 5 days time
has the a vague chance of playing the odd game
no more than £600 ideally

i think that's about it.

Thanks in advance

From those requirements it sounds like a Dell Outlet job. Theres quite a few <600 quid XPSM1530 laptops with decent specs on at the moment.

I picked up a Vostro 1510 a couple months back with that sort of spec for £415 shipped.

Core 2 duo processor, 2gb RAM, wireless, 15.4" screen, weighs less than 3kg, has an 8400GS graphics card (will play most stuff) - ideal all rounder.

Dell is definitely the way forward.

I ordered one of these today, same spec, £316.19 delivered.

Glad to hear you recommend it and I would echo your sentiments, sounds ideal for the op, don't think you need to be spending £600 to achieve your goals.
