Laptop advice

Hey, ever since I brought a MSI GS70 I can't say it hasn't let me down. You'll get good value out of their larger GT series and in terms of performance It'll be slightly slower in games than your desktop. I've completely replaced my desktop pc due now due to the gaming laptop fitting my gaming needs (I play undemanding games). Although it's going to cost more my advice is to get a GS 60 / 70 as if you say you travel lots because a GT series is very heavy. Yes you'll pay a premium to have a smaller gaming laptop but portablility is key for some people. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=LT-176-MS&groupid=959&catid=1828

I've also heard that the GT series due to size runs considerably cooler and more quiet than the GS series counterpart (My GPU gets very loud and warm under load). So that's a consideration too. However 970M GPU quadcore i7 and 8gb + SSD are ALL you'll need for a gaming laptop especially if you have a desktop.

Ben

(also nice desktop pretty much the same I was running till a week ago :-)

Aye not so fussed about size, working away just means using in hotel rooms. Not using while commuting. Though i shall look at the GS range also.

Budget wise is 1000-1200ish

To be honest then mate if size isn't a concern that that GT70 is probably going to be a sweet spot for you, that's the only real benefit the GS series has.
