Hi all, new user but long time lurker :)

A question regarding laptops, is it at all possible to use a laptop as the 2nd screen for a PC, or possibly vice versa WITHOUT using some form of KVM for the desktop machine?

Thanks all,

Kind Regards

I asked this question aaages ago, and apparently you'll need to re-wire the laptop screen to get it to work as a second screen.

You can however have it as a second monitor if you have it connected to the net.. but i imagine there would be a slight bit of lag

I'm pretty sure someone reccomended me this software

http://www.maxivista.com/

But as i said, this was ages ago so it might not be that :p

Basically if the monitor is connected to the local network, it can have an overlay effect and simulate as a second monitor through the network... Like Stellios said, VNC style :p

Well, VNC would give me a virtual desktop, which isn't what im looking for, but wow, that maxivista software does indeed look top notch. Will definately try that, thanks for the link!
