Laptop Battery problem after upgrading to Windows 7

Hey all,

After upgrading to Windows 7, my laptop battery barely lasts 15 minutes. Usually lasts between 1 to 2hrs when I was on XP and Vista. This problem is quite common as documented at the Microsoft Forum. The thread is pretty long and hoping they have a fix but they don't seem to have one as of yet for my laptop.

I have an Acer 5051 Aspire. Have Microsoft released a fix or patch to fix this annoying problem yet??? Anyone know what I can do?

Tried turning aero desktop off and measured the difference in battery life?
post exact figures here pls for comparison.

I don't believe that is the problem. I've turned off all the aero stuff.

Have you set the power mode type?

Control panel > system and security > power options > power saver

I've pretty much tried everything. Take a look at the thread at the Microsoft Support Forum to see what the problem i'm experiencing.

Anyone currently experiencing the same problem
