I bought a Toshiba Equium A100-337 laptop in March from a well known PC store filled with people in purple shirts who don't know a mouse from their foot (i'm sure you've guessed it  ). Well the thing is that I have barely used my laptop, just every few weeks and I always run it of the battery and the power supply when the power goes low as I believe this is how I am supposed to in order to keep the batttery in good condition opposed to just plugging it in all the time. Lately I have noticed that my battery is pretty flat whenever I take it out when I am almost certain I had it fully charged just a few days/week beforehand. I'm guessing this means that my battery is done?

Where do I stand regarding the battery and the warranty? Should it be covered especially considering the laptop is barely 6 or 7 months old.

I just thought it would be best to ask you guys before I go back to the store to be told a load of rubbish as usual.

Batterys arnt included I had this problem with the same place with purple shirts and laptop only 2 weeks old. They will tell u to sod off, it does actualy say this on your garentee sadley that it doesnt include batteries.

Laptop batteries do have a manufacturers warranty, but it isn't always 12 months. Some batteries have a 3, 6, or 12 month warranty. Toshiba however, do provide a 12 month warranty for batteries.

Sony laptop's are repaired directly by Sony under the first year warranty. It is not up to the store do grant or deny you service.

If you log it directly with Sony, they will collect the battery and/or laptop and check it out for you.

I take it i'll just have to dig out my box and find the warranty documents and receipt and see what the storey is. Just annoyed I spent £600 on a laptop and the battery is done already. Even my Iqon laptop is still going strong and it is well over a year old
