is it bad or good leaving the power cord in your laptop with the battery in all the time? when the battery is 100% fully charged?? will this damage the battery??

whats the general advice?

Good, if you can call it that. I thought it was just power, whether good or bad

Your laptop will run off your battery, with the power being taken from the mains to top the battery up. Kinda like a UPS. Nothing wrong with it at all.

Benjarghmin, I don't think laptop batteries are designed that way. They work better with a charge/discharge cycle or at least they used to as otherwise a form of 'memory' effect can take place.

Personally if I'm going to be leaving my laptop plugged in for a long time I will remove the battery. It might or might not make any real difference but it makes me feel better. :)

thought that memory effect only occurs on old ni-cad batteries, on nimh and lithium ion batteries that doesn;t occur?

dunno really, what types of batteries do they use in ups systems? since those dont really need to be deep cycled or car batteries.
