at the end of last week laptop, an Alienware M18x R2 with gtx 680m, blue screened with a Video Scheduler Internal error. I went through a few step as googled, but over weekend it went from that to a black screen when loading into windows.

I suspected hdd, so re-installed windows while switching out the hdds, to make sure it was the drives, windows loaded up ok, but as soon the the gfx card was recognised, the driver were downloaded required a restart and queue a black screen when loading into windows.

i'm pretty sure the gfx card is bust, but want to know if there is any other way to test it.

Does anyone have any advice, other than by a new card?

Does that model have some sort of iGPU you could use to test it? Might be an option in the bios to disable the dedicated graphics. Either that or try the same process as you did before with an external monitor?
