Laptop BLANK - Where do i go now?

Hi,

I don't really know how to troubleshoot a laptop. It was working fine till my mum tried to install the usb modem web and walk t-mobile one. She brings it to me saying she got a blue screen.

When i turned on the laptop it had something about repairing startup (i never seen this before), it tried to do this then failed. Now when i turn it on its just blank, nothing, no bios booting screen nothing.

Any ideas where i can go from here?

its a fujitsu laptop, vista home is on it

No bios screen suggests, power failure or a mainboard problem. Do the fans spin and lights come on?

If they do try clearing the CMOS.

Yes the lights come on and i can hear the fans, how do i clear the CMOS on a laptop?

Take the main battery out, and also the little cmos battery, check your manual to find out where that is.

Hows old is the laptop??

Might be worthwhile sending it back to manufacturer to get it fix if it is still within warenty
