Ok, well the original budget for a laptop around the £750 mark has gone - thanks to not being paid what I was expecting! 
I've got £600 I'm happy to spend, but could push £700 if it was something special for the money.
The kind of laptop I'm after is:
something fairly quick
quiet if I want it to be (for lectures, ie. fan speeds)
very light gaming - not talking anything recent here.
ample amount of space for films / music etc.
Ideally it would be using an ATI card - seeing as Nvidia have cocked up with their G86 and G84 range - I don't fancy a faulty card.
