Laptop Challange...

I think ive found a laptop which im looking to buy quite soon....

I challange anyone to find me a better spec laptop for the same price or less (maybe slightly more if its worth it)

Toshiba L300-20D

Intel Celeron Dual Core T1600 processor.
1.66GHz processor speed.
1MB cache.
1GB DDR2 RAM.

Resolution 1280 x 800 pixels.

Is this good/worth it?

1) Animated sigs are bad
2) That's got an Atom processor in it, by no means bad but quite slow.
3) OPs machine has 160gb of HDD, yours has 8gb
4) All leading up to the fact the OP was after a laptop - not a netbook. :)
 
if they're anything like the Toshiba A300's then it should be half decent performance wise. Granted its not the greatest spec in the world but it'll be plenty fast enough for most general things :)

only downside about the A300 is that they are damn ugly! not sure if the L300 is the same but for that price you can't complain :)
 
If you can stretch to a RAM upgrade it would probably be worth it, especially with it running vista. But it seems like a good price for that spec.
 
A300 is much nicer than L300 which in all honesty is a pile of turd, with that spec and ram anything more than basic internet will be frustrating to use. I would try spend a bit more and get a decent processor and minimum 2GB ram, it might be ok to start with but once you start putting a few programs on there it will be pretty slow.
 
to be honest, this will be mainly used for downloadin stuff, and mainly playing the one game...Legend of mir 2

Spec required for mir2 is...

pentium 4 1.0 ghz
512ram
4gb hard drive...

ive been playin it on my pc & on a hp omnibook 500 (500mhz 256ram!) and im sure if it runs ok on that then it should be a lot better on this one. any probs ill just whack some ram in it (max 4gb it can hold)

This laptop still winning for £210, going too order it soon!!

the ones we have at work (A300-229's) just look and feel really tacky in a grey plastic :( the keyboards flex inwards just from pressing the buttons (more noticable when pressing some of the number buttons or F5 to F8) and just doesnt have a solid feel to them

but I agree, i've seen far far worse than these lol
