Laptop connections for 2 monitors

Hi

I want to get a 2nd monitor for my laptop (a Lenovo Thinkpad), but not sure about the connections.
I'm already using the HDMI port, but don't know what these other two ones are and can they be used for hooking up a monitor.

Looks like I can get cables that goes from usb thunderbolt to either HDMI or displayport.

Is one better than the other? (the monitors have both inputs)
