Hi guys, I no longer have a full rig as i'm always on the move i've got a laptop which is ideal for my needs.
I was just wondering if anyone can help me out about its cooling. Predominately during the day its sat on mains power with the battery taken out, the fan spins all the time at quite high RPM even though AMD cool 'n' quiet is installed.
Sometimes the fan goes crazy scary loud and fast and stays there even if the laptop is idle for a while.
Can I upgrade the fan for a quieter model. How come 'cool 'n' quiet' doesnt seem to be working. i.e. only spinning the fan when its needed. It does work for a short while if its just running on battery power.
I also seem to have a spare fan area, but i'd need to check for another header on the mobo before I could plug another fan in. Would this really make any difference?
I guess the problem stems from the fact that the fan is small (60mm??) so its noisy....
I'm just looking for your advice tbh!
Laptop is an ASUS A2D model
Thanks
