Hey everyone,

my laptop get phenomonally hot when its on my lap (hmm LAPtop anyone).
does anybody have a laptop cooler, is it any good?

i want something to go under my laptop and then makes it cool so i can rest it on my lap.

has anybody got any recommendations?

you can get these http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-012-AK&tool=3 but by looks of it these are designed to sit on a flat surface ie not your bare legs. :( cant you just sit it on something ?

i like sitting on my bed surfing the net watching programs and what not, i dont enjoy sitting at a desk, its not that comfortable.

i have to put my duvet over my legs so that it doesnt melt my legs, but that is one of the problems. As it is a duvet it is retaining the heat!


AH ive just had an idea, im going to try and get a random piece of flat wood or plastic. use that as a base.

see i work on this department but have no idea if these are any good or not! we have no models to test it on, might buy one of these and test it then take it back if it sucks.

will probably buy that akasa cooler though

lol already know about this.

i said lap as it is quite general, but the position changes a lot.

for a bit it will be below my gentlemans area, just above my knees.
other times on my stomach,
right know i have the screen at a 90-100 degree angle with the whole laptop resting against my right leg. (my left leg is resting)

my sperm will be ok, thanks for the worry though ;) :D
 
Plus, these things suck air in from underneath, I know mine has 3 fans on the underside, placing it on things like duvets or soft surfaces blocks the fans and therefore the airflow. Try placing it on a solid book (Such as stupidly sized atlas or similar), Or even a tray.
 
I just use a tray from the kitchen for on my lap, that way it keeps it on a flat surface for airflow (as opposed to the duvet) and stops the sperm killing heat
