What are the chances that the Celeron-M in my lappy can be swapped out for a beefier Pentium-M ?

It just feels sluggish compared to my desktop which is either due to only having 256Mb RAM ( got another 256Mb on its way ) or its the CPU.

If they use the same socket, then there's probably a good chance.

Drop the manufacturer an email or check their website to see what cpu's the lappy can take.

Remember though, laptops also run on a lower fsb than most desktops, so that could be a factor as to why it feels more sluggish.

You're also using a dual core CPU which can lead to windows feeling far 'snappier' than on a single core CPU

The ram probably is the biggest culprit though :)
