Laptop CPU upgrade.

Just to add to what has already been said.

According to cpu world this is a 533 fsb socket M chip.

This page explains a little more about the socket M

http://www.cpu-world.com/Sockets/Socket M (mPGA478MT).html

The 945 chipset does not support 800MHz CPUs, as there are no Socket M CPUs with a 800MHz FSB frequency (only 667MHz).
Socket P CPUs (eg. T7250) are incompatible with the 945 chipset.

A chip such as this one would probably work, assuming your BIOS will support core2 duo chips. http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Core_...bile T7600 LF80537GF0534M (BX80537T7600).html

From my limited experiance with upgrading mobile cpus its very much a case of do your homework and pray for the best. Just because your chipset and socket support a particular processor does not mean it will work. Sometimes the manufacturer limits the mainboard to accept only certain types of cpu such as core solo or core duo and not core2 duo to prevent people from buying a cheaper machine and upgrading the cpu.

Ive had a quick google for other people changing the cpu in that type of laptop and ive not found anything worth reading so i really couldnt advice as to what will work 100% :(
