Laptop CPU

Complete strip down on this laptop, unless you want to cut a big hole in the base of the laptop.

Not too bad to strip this laptop, pretty straight forward.

Take the battery and PSU out.
Removed all screws from the base, including the battery tray.
Remove panels for hard drive and wifi/ram. removed the 5mm nuts from the wifi area. remove hard drive and there maybe a screw under the HD.
Disconect the wifi cables, remove the CD drive and the screws cd drive bay.
Check over for any missed scerws.
Flip it back over and from one end of the strip cover at top of keyboard, gently prise it up towards the left, and pop the keyboard out at the same time, strip cover and keyboard are clipped in. gently open the connectors with small flat screwdriver.
now take the wifi cables through so they are above the laptop, unplug the lcd cable on the left, remove the 4 scews holding the lcd on.
Then take the screws from the topcase, some silver ones and 2 black ones under the hinges.
disconnect the touchpad and any other cables you can see.
top case should pull up use a credit card to go around the case to split it, check for left screws if it seems to not want to come apart.
Then take a few screws from main board, and any other cables you can see now the case is off. The mainboard should come up from the right hand side and lift out.
Flip over and you can see the heatsink screws.

If you lay all the screws out logically it should be a doddle to put back together.

No some do have a panel on the base, but a lot are a full strip down, I can do a cpu change on one of these in 15 minutes so it's no really a ballache when youve done thousands of laptops :)
