laptop CPU's help please

Im no good at my laptops but the GF wants one,

Question: AMD Turion 64 x2 Dual Core 1.6GHz V's Intel Core 2 Duo 1.67GHz - the intel is £90 more than the AMD rest of the specs the same, so would this be worth it?

Is it to be a gaming laptop?

If not, then the Mobile Intel CPU's will give 4~5 hours battery life.
(For a working lappy - I'd prefer the battery life to unutilised CPU power)

its just to be an all round quick laptop, some games but nothing top of the range.

It can be plugged in most of the time so battery not so important, but 3hr+ would be good.

the intel is worth the extra 90 imo
