Laptop cushion to keep ME cool!

Hi folks, I'm using an otherwise reliable Belkin laptop cushion at the moment but the problem is that the heat generated from underneath the laptop is absorbed by the cushion, is passed onto me and is hot and uncomfortable as hell. Especially in this weather.

Laptop accessories aren't my strong point and am hoping one of you fellers can recommend an alternative solution.

Hmm, I cant find anything (at a glance) lke your current cushion with active cooling so i would say your best bet would be to buy one of these (like the one linked above) then you can place it on top of your Belkin cushion as I imagine the stand alone may not be too comfy on your lap and you may clog the fans with your trousers.

have a look at the iLap (or something similar), that looks like a good solution as your legs have more space to breath.

they're designed so that they can be placed directly on your lap without needing an extra cushion or anything like that.

Interesting. Logitech have rarely if ever let me down in the past. Do you have one? If so, how "minimal" is the drain on the laptop battery?

i only used it when i was at home, so i was on AC at the time, but the logitech specs say it has a maximum power usage of 1W, so not much at all.

Just bought a Logitech N100. It's light, comfy and well worth the money (paid £16.99).

I see they only make them for laptops up to 15.4 inches. I'm getting a 17.3 model. I shouldn't really have any problem with the extra inch or so, should I?

Might not absorb as much heat seeing as it's plastic on top.

My friend uses one of those granny-style dinner lap trays with the beanbag cushion on the bottom for her laptop, used to work rather well!

maybe, maybe not. i've seen a 17" macbook pro used on one without issue, it'll probably be fine.
