just a quick question, will it be ok to fit a 5400RPM hard drive to replace my 4200RPM drive, or will the extra disk speed cause to much vibration and heat

Wrong thread but no it won't make more vibration in fact it could make less, the disk is highly balanced and for any given mass increased speed will make it smoother running, more heat maybe.
