Looking to upgrade my laptop wiress (had a thread a little while ago) and bought a wireless PCMCIA card only to find out my laptop has some new fangled slot the same size but called an EXPRESS slot...

Apparently this is a new thing, my laptop I believe supports the wonky L shaped express cards and possibly the slim ones as they look like they'll fit in the hole. :D

Anyway, does anyone know where I can buy a wireless card that will fit in my wonky hole as I'm not having much luck finding any!

Which laptop is it?

Precious few ship with the Express slot and without wireless capability already built in.

Edit: are you trying to upgrade to N?

It's an Asus V1JP, it has built in 54mpbs but I need faster as I deal with large amounts of huge resolution photos.
It gets a bit boring waiting around, was hoping to slap a super fast card in (to initially hit the upper limit of my router at say 108mbps?) and then think about upgrading my wireless router to increase the speed to N speeds (300mbps I think).

Problem is, no one sells any kind of express cards yet that I can see. :S

I presume you are transferring between your laptop and another local PC in which case I'd be inclined to use the GiGE cabled connection as even if you get a 108Mbps wireless card I suspect you still won't be happy with the transfer speed.

I know it isn't as convenient as a wireless connection but for moving very large files around wireless really isn't the way to go.

If you must stay wireless then look for USB wireless options, plenty of those around.

Also take care when looking at N wireless routers as not all of them have a GiGE switch so it rather limits the ability to link between the wireless and the cabled sides of your network.
