Laptop Fan Problem

My laptop fan has just started being rather odd. It spins for 5 seconds and stops for 1 second then spins up again, and repeats this process. Any idea how to fix it?

mine was playing up a bit, it could be a build up of dust, put the end of the hoover to it, don't keep it there long because you may build up static, just short sharp blasts,worked on mine

I tried blowing the dust out but that didn't seem to help

faulty fan perhaps, or maybe a faulty temperature sensor causing the fan to not know what to do with itself?

Hmm possibly, how would I find out? It was running fine until a few hours ago.

not sure with a laptop, if it was a standard case you could just swap the fan for a new one, is it still in warranty?

I opened it up and give the fan a good clear, seems good now! Thanks
