Laptop faulty - gpu or screen

Looks like case of a fault.

So screen on laptop has suddenly turned pink. And you can almost see old windows behind the ones you are looking at.

Hdmi cable to an external monitor seems OK.

Is this likely a faulty screen? Never seen this before. Especially with the ghost images of other windows

First suspicion is it's the cable between laptop base and screen
With all the lid opening and closing they can develop little breaks

I'm kind of hoping it's not the gpu.
I've taken this laptop apart before (the whole thing) so hopefully be able to check if it's the cable.

Has been working fine for hours on 2nd monitor Might end up a htpc at this rate!

Usually to get to cable its remove top plastics
Some involve taking keyboard out too
Just flex/bend/wiggle the cable see what happens
If it's the cable it's a relatively cheap repair
