I have been asked to source a laptop for a neighbour who has got an apprentice job as a design engineer. It will be used for CAD and solidworks.
According to the requirements for solidworks, the laptop needs a specific graphics card such as a FirePro or a Quadro.
Are these cards really needed as it shoots the price of a laptop up a few hundred quid?
Budget was meant to be £500 but it appears that's out the window so if anyone can suggest a laptop capable of doing the job and at a decent price, then I would appreciate it.
I will let my neighbour know that his £500 budget is simply not good enough.
