Look good, will check out the outlet later. Its down atm.

Just built a Dell Studio 15,

Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor P7450 (2.13Ghz, 3MB, 1066MHz)
4096MB 800MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM [2x2048]
500GB (5.400rpm) SATA Hard Drive
512MB ATI Mobility RADEON HD 4570
15.6in Widescreen High Definition (1366x768) WLED with TrueLife
Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium 64bit- English
Fixed Internal DVD+/-RW Slot Load Drive
Primary 6-cell 56 WHr Lithium Ion battery
2.0 Mega pixel Integrated Web Camera

£618.99 inc vat and del.

What you think to that ?

Pretty similar to the XPS16. The XPS will have been build quality and will have a faster GPU and DDR3 ram instead of DDR2. Performance wise in Windows, they will be pretty equal.

Dell Outlet store is a bit temperamental, just keep trying and you will get in.

i think you have to distinguish between 'pretty rubish' and 'not as good'

but then given that its nearly half the price and has a better gfx chip should more than make up for any cpu difference really..

Gpu isn't better. It's the same as the Studio 15, but the XPS one is miles better.

Edit: Well not miles, but it's better than the 4570. The 4570 is only 64bit.

Not trying to start an argument or anything! The guy just asked for something around £600, and the XPS 16 is worth that amount. I'd he wants something cheaper and slower that's cool, but I just specced something that is priced at £600 and has the build quality of something that is £600!

Thanks for all the info.

Still carnt get on the dell out let uk, said its down till 9pm

See what i can see on there and then buy. What warrenty do u get from the out let ? how long fo delivery ??

Thanks Ben

very true just checked the numbers on notebook check..

average for a 4570 is about 3500~ in 3dmarl06 and for the 3670 its about 4.2k so thats what extra u get with the xps.

Dell provide the same 1 year warranty that they provide with their new machines which is great.

Delivery should take no more than a week. Usually about 5 days from my experience. They are a lot quicker than buying a new one cause they are pre-built refurbs.

Well just got on the Dell Outlet web site and carnt find anything to beat the Studio 15.

Gonna order this tonight,

Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor P7450 (2.13Ghz, 3MB, 1066MHz)
4096MB 800MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM [2x2048]
500GB (5.400rpm) SATA Hard Drive
512MB ATI Mobility RADEON HD 4570
15.6in Widescreen High Definition (1366x768) WLED with TrueLife
Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium 64bit- English
Fixed Internal DVD+/-RW Slot Load Drive
Primary 6-cell 56 WHr Lithium Ion battery
2.0 Mega pixel Integrated Web Camera

£618.99 inc vat and del. (total saving of £259.00 !!)

The ones on the outlet only have vista for a start and if they are any good the screen is to big at 17", the max i want is 15.6".

Thanks for the help.
