Laptop for 8 year old

Hi all,

My 8 year old wants a laptop for Xmas.
Schoolwork and some gaming. He plays Fortnite and Minecraft ect on playstation and will most probably do the same on the laptop.

Anyone bought a second hand one? I was thinking like a Lenovo legion 5 or similar...

Can't really justify £8/900 on one, but also no point buying a 300/400 laptop that won't do what he wants..; so was thinking second hand?

Any thoughts?

My lad's £350 laptop from a couple of years ago plays Minecraft fine. He doesn't play Fortnite, but you'd be surprised what the integrated graphics can do these days.

Get a Ryzen 5 in it and you'll game pretty well:

Yeah I think I would like a dedicated card as to be as future proof as I can be...
