Hi, I've been looking around for a laptop for studio use for a while but can't seem to make my mind up what I need, or even if I need a laptop - I'm looking to spend £400 max.

The main programs I will be using are photoshop, vectorworks, autocad, sketchup.

Final renders in vray4sketchup and 3d studio max will be done on my home desktop (q6600 @ 3.0Ghz, 512mb graphics, 4gb ram, winXP 64bit), however I need something to work on in the studio which will do the job reasonably well (my room is too small to work from!).

My main question is do I need a dedicated graphics card if I'm not doing any renders? I've settled on a 2ghz c2duo and 2gb, and want to run winXP x86 professional.

My other question is sod it - do I just buy a dirt cheap desktop + monitor and drill holes in them to attach steel cables + padlock?!

Any help much appreciated.
