Laptop for around 550-600 pounds

I have to choose one for a friend of mine, but I'm not sure what to pick.

I guess the mimimum specs should be like:
Not sure for the proc.
15.4 Display
512MB Ram
60GB HDD

Brands: Dell or Acer (Toshiba also)

The laptop is for a 11 years old boy (games, surfing & using Word, Excel for study purposes)

Im on an Acer TravelMate 2413LCi which cost me about £600 new but they are going for around the £500 mark now.

1.5Ghz celeron
15 Inch Display
60Gb Hdd
256Mb DDR2 ram

So it meets all of your spec except for the ram, im sure a cheap second module could be added if you wish.

Its only a 14.1" screen but pretty good specs. Got a yonah in there
