Hi guys,

This might seem like a bit of a stupid question but is it worth buying a laptop for gaming? I'd be looking to play BF3 and Skyrim (amongst other things).

If a laptop can play these am I looking at a big budget?

I will check these out. Would you suggest dell over alienware? I've got a friend saying to buy a tower but I want something I can take around with me. Or would I be better buying a tower?

If you need portability then look at a Clevo W110ER 11.6" with upto i7 + GT 650M.

or a 15" laptop.

With a tower portability is not going to happen.

Sure a tower will have more power and is more upgradable.

However if you are moving about then laptop for sure.

Alienware is pretty overpriced, go for a Clevo chassis and make your own system.

My P170EM set me back £1400 and equivielant AW will cost a hell of a lot more.

The Intel has more grunt over the AMD (not so much that you would notice if you are not into benchmarking)

The HD7970M leaves the GT 650M in the dust.

However the AMD CPU + HD 7970M may bottleneck in some games however it should not really be a drama :)

AMD should be good, there is more gen on this system somewhere:
