I am wanting a new laptop to replace my really old pc.

It needs to have:
hdmi out.
output 5.1 audio to my amp.
playback x264 hi-res files no probs.
blu-ray player and a dvd writer.
Would be handy if i could connect an external hdd for storage.

It would be mainly used for watching movies on my tv and pj.

Not bothered about screen size but a decent resolution would be good.
Won't be used for gamming at all.

Budget is a max of about £700.

Can anyone suggest a laptop that fits my requirements?

Cheers.

The Acer aspire as6920g is £620, the aspire as6530 is £529 both have a blue ray spdif digital output, hdmi, dolby digital, infa red so you can use one of those Logitech remotes. Both are about the same performance the as6920 has media touch controls & a larger hard drive.

Acer aspire 8920g 18" screen

Anyone else recommend any other laptops?

Cheers.
