Laptop for Swtor up to about £500-£599

Hi there,

A friend of mine has been playing WoW on an old latop for about 3 years. It runs on lowest settings but thats never bothered him, however now swtor is here he wants to get started on that but this laptop isnt up to it!

I was just wondering if anyone could recommend a laptop that would run this game at low-medium settings for a maximum of £599? Im more of a Pc guy so cant really help him out!

Hes been looking at NO COMPETITORS and comet etc but is unsure what would be a good buy! Its a pain that you cant try before you buy

Or if anyone has had any experiance of this game on a lower end laptop how does it run and what sort of spec are you running on?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I recently bought a laptop off of the dell outlet for £580 all in.

I7 2630
Nvidia 555m
6gb ram.

It runs at 1600x900 with everything set to high (bloom and shadow off, grass detail turned down) at about 40-60 fps.

That's just to give you a rough idea.

Cheers mate good reply, ill pass that on! Its just i dont want to recommend something then it not work for him! Keep opinions coming folks! But that dell sounds good for the price!

Be interested to see how you get on have a main i7 gaming rig but have been looking at a laptop for swtor when out & about or pottering about while in a different room i.e. running missions etc.

Wandering if anyone else has tried the new amd fusion A8 or E-450 series laptops, as have seen them for sub £300 and the onboard gpu is 6XXX series and don't need to run with everything maxed.
