Laptop for under £400?

So whats a good laptop these days? I havent bought one since 2001...things seems to have changed, who the hell are Lenovo?

Anyway I digress, GF wants one one for under £400, any good models for that price range? Just for browsing and maybe playing a bit of The Sims.
