Hey guys,

Since I'm starting uni real soon, I'm gonna be in need of a laptop! I considered getting a tablet instead, but I figured a laptop would be better. Now, here's the thing: the last laptop I had was a DELL Inspiron about maybe 6 or 7 years ago - so I am completely clueless about what I should be looking for today. I'll be studying Maths & CS, so for the most part, I'll either be writing stuff down on it, or using it for programming when it is work related. I imagine the majority of the time I'll be using it though will be for messing around on the internet/skype, things like that :D (My situation means I'll probably be spending a lot of time with nothing to do, either waiting for class or waiting to get home, so I'll definitely be killing time with it, so to speak).

Bearing that in mind, what should I go for? I've been looking around and it seems a lot more complicated than it was back when I got my old laptop - I was considering just going **** it and getting a macbook and calling it done, but was wondering if you guys had any other recommended stuff for me.

Since I'll be carrying it around quite a bit I'll need it to be fairly lightweight, at least, so keeping the screen down to 15" at maximum.

So basically, looking for:

-Something lightweight, doesn't have to be ultrabook, but an SSD for quick booting would be nice
- 15.4" screen size maximum
- Good performance for internet/skype/videos, nothing too intensive, I won't be gaming on it or anything like that
- Good build quality that will last me (this may be what was drawing me to the macbook)

Any ideas lads? I'm kinda in a pickle!
