Laptop for video editing no price limit

Hi Guys..

I'm looking to get a laptop for video rendering, photoshop and lightroom.

No price limit as my family all chipping in to get for my birthday.

What is the best option?

Don't know whats the best option but make sure you get something with atleast an i7-3610QM CPU and 16GB RAM as the base specs. For that kind of useage you probably want something with dual HDDs - one a decent sized SSD and the other a decent sized mechanical HDD for mass storage.

Have a look at the dell M series in the business range. They use the i7 extreme processors.

Get a HP Elitebook or a Dell M4700/M6700. Max everything out, except for the Blu-Ray drive and the SSD (you can add this yourself, Dell wants £400 for a Blu-Ray writer :eek:

). By the way, adding 3920XM might not be worth it for a small performance gain. Invest more money in to SSDs instead.

For video editing I highly reccomend the razer blade, a lot of youtubers use it to edit, and its very powerful in general, It is like £2,000 atm though.
Just google razerzone blade.

does it have to be a laptop ?.........................a decent pc would be far better for video editing even an i-7 laptop wont cope at all well with after effects etc

Only a dual core and an underpowered GPU to boot.
