Laptop for video Editing

Hey guys i've been browsing a few threads trying to get a r ough idea on a laptop that will happily munch it's way through video editing but i think for what im looking for it either doesn't exist or costs the earth!!
is there a laptop that fits these specs

Can handle 720p video editing (at most)
has decent battery life 4-5 hours of browsing time
15 inch 900 or 1080 resolution
good enough cpu that rendering a 10 minute video won't take hours
doesn't run crazy hot ( i'll be in a country thats average is 35-40C i don't want my laptop to melt!)

a lot of people seem to suggest Mac's for video editing but surely there is a laptop equivalant .... and would hate to have to get a Mac.

now before you suggest getting a desktop for video editing i already do

560ti

my reason for getting a laptop is im out of the country for 4-5 months at a time not at a permanant location and need to have a portable device where i can transfer and edit my video.

the only ones i've really checked out are
dell XPS 15z
dell Studio 16
Dell XPS 15

sorry there all dell mainly because of the delloutlet thread im hoping to pick up a laptop around £600 or less which may seem like a stretch but i also travel to the US where the american Dell outlet seem a little cheaper.

Anyways sorry for the huge thread but if anyone can offer any help or laptop suggestions or advice ...anything i would be gratefull.

my son does abit video editing on his inspiron n5010
he captures from his ps3 with the hauppage hd unit and then mess's about with it in sony vegas and after effects, he has not had any issues yet.
macs are best in my opinion for music and video editing, my son is staying on at school doing media and annimation stuff and i promised i'd get him a mac next year

Hey thanks i'll have to check it out cpu wise it seems good dual core i5 so definately worth checking out.
does he have any problems with overheating or rendering times?

Part Time job + 4-5 months of no pay each year = heavy cost of Mac not an option

no issue's with over heating it seems to run quite sweet, rendering times vary depending what he's doing in after effects ie twitch effects etc, and also what comentary he adds overall he's happy, i upgraded his tired desktop with this laptop due to rendering times he's not complained so far. its a nice little laptop was £499 new when i got it.

picked up from the outlet for £573 + £22 delivery + £23 for additional 4gb of RAM (came with 1x4gb)

My only criticism is that the screen res is slightly too high.

Thanks chili for the answering my questions

i took a quick look and it seems they have discountinued the line so maybe i could pick a refurbished one up cheaper which is always a good thing! the only complaint it seems was battery life that i could find and that it doesn't have a discrete GPU.

disco boy i never even thought to check out the Business outlet is there a differance on machines or does it just mean the laptops were owned by business or ordered?

that seems like one hell of a laptop decent GPU (does it come with turbo boost?)
the 1080 resolution would be great what is it that you don't like about the resolution? does it make icons to small on the 15" screen?

i'll definatrely be keeping my eye out on those for sure and try and find some other reviews but it looks like a good deal price wise and spec wise. Any problems with Battery life? whats the average you get out of it?

The machines are different. The latitude is a business range and not a consumer one.

Battery life is good. Easily Over 4 hours if doing unintensive tasks. Some models have an extended battery that would be even better obviously.

There is a 14" model available with the same specs. I was going to get that, but mine came up first,

The dpi of the screen I just found really high at first, i'm more used to it now.
