Insurance company are finally just going to send us a cheque for £1000 after not being able to fix our machine, has taken them about 3 months man.

Anyhow, i keep reading threads here where people are saying that the 8600in the laptops is rubbish and cannot run any games etc.

How does it stack up to the x cards from radeon? i am sure that our last laptop was an x1300 or x1600 or something and it ran wow perfectly fine which is what the laptop is used for. Is the 8600 worse than this? as all the laptops that i am looking at seem to have this card in them.

If anyone can recommend a good solid laptop to play wow on/browse for around the £600 mark that wld be great. How about the vostro ones?

The 8600GT is a perfectly good card, for a laptop. It will play WoW very well indeed. In fact it's quite playable (and looks good too) on my 3-year-old laptop with a "Radeon 9600 Pro Turbo" at 1280x800, and the 8600GT is many times better than that. Obviously in comparison with high end desktop cards it's not up to much, and if you try to play Crysis at 1900x1200 at high settings you'll probably struggle....
