Ok so on new years eve, i took my laptop over to my friends house since i have a tonne of music and and they didnt have any, i placed my laptop as it now turns out under an existing leak which they had thought had stopped.. As you can imagine water was in my laptop, i turned it off as soon as i realised, then took it apart and dried all the components, and placed the mobo next to the raditator to dry overnight...

I put it all back together in the morning and it was reporting a ram failure, so i did a scan of the ram and my laptop booted up fine..

I can use my laptop for the normal things like running Firefox, Word, Visual Studio, Traktor, but when i try to play games such as Counterstrike Source It freezes and i have to hold the power button to turn it off. I have noticed that this also happens when im streaming from the website revision 3.

I have no idea what the problem is but i really want to get this sorted out i have an itchy trigger finger...

Im hoping it wont be too expensive to fix, but im not all that worried as i have started saving for the desktop i so desperatly need.

So if anyone has any insight in to my problem it would be very much appreciated..

Thanks Azzy..

If its water damage it could litteraly be anything, the only way to find out would be to swap out the components one at a time until you eliminate everything, which will take a lot of time and testing... or in other words, a big repair bill for labour.

sounds like ram or cooling, either that or there is still a bit of wet inside it.
As mentioned above with water tehre are no gurantees as to what it is though. does it have two ram sticks? If so they will be in different places so only one should be damaged, even if it only has one isntaleld tried moving it incase the socket is whats broken. One will prob be under the keyboard and one on the bottom.

Im gonna try switching the ram out and only putting one stick in at a time see if i can find problems there..

If its not the ram i can assume its something more serious..

Thanks for the help guys will keep you posted
