Hi everyone,

When I pull the a/c power cable out of my laptop to use the battery, my laptop automatically goes into sleep mode and turns off? then i have to turn it on again to resume.

Why is it doing this and how can i fix it?

I have a Samsung 700G7A ( Windows 7 Premium)

Have you taken a look in control panel at the settings for this? Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Power Options\Edit Plan Settings. It would be strange if the settings are aimed at this behaviour but it is possible. I don't have your mega machine but I'm on win.7 Premium. Mine say for "on battery":-
Dim the display after 2 minutes
Turn off the display after 5 minutes
Put the computer to sleep after 15 minutes

But your machine also turns off? Is that a while after entering sleep or straight away? Sounds like you could have a duff battery.

That sounds really odd, does it do the same with the laptop switch in all 4 modes? (gamer, balanced, etc)

Might be worth trying to disable all sleep/hibernate settings in the power profile, I think there is also a battery recyle option in the BIOS (there is something about that in the 700G7A thread somewhere. Failing that I would consider a W7 reinstall but sounds more like a hardware problem.
