I decided today to upgrade my laptop to windows 7 ultimate 64bit as its been on Vista 32 bit since the day i bought it....

Everything went fine and it all installed fine but for some reason im getting graphical corruptions on the screen...like when i boot up an internet page.. or even the desktop background sometimes is all fuzzy like when you overclock a graphics card too much and the screen messes up...
The toolbar is fine though for some reason..
Im just kind of confused why its suddenly like this as it was fine on Vista...

Its a Mobile intel 4 series express chipset with intergrated graphics.

Any reason why i would getting these graphical corruptions when i havent even done anything but install a new windows?

Sounds like you haven't the correct graphics driver for the laptop installed. I always had this on winxp after a clean install with my NVidia graphics card. (The screen resolution and refresh without driver was too low to display smoothly)

I can't be 100% certain it will be as I don't often clean install a laptop/pc with integrated graphics. :)

Go to

Control Panel\System and Security\System

open Device Manager

and look to see what it says under display adapters (is it using generic driver?) If it is you may need to download a driver. Windows Update may pick it up as an optional update when you do updates.

If you want to check what resolution is set to now right click on desktop and click on screen resolution.
