Hi all, i have an Acer Aspire 7741. It has an i3-380M processor, 4 Gigs of RAM ans Win7 Home Edition.

Im looking to upgrade my onboard Intel HD graphics to a graphics card but here us where im stuck:

1) Will a gpu fit

2) what if any gpu can i get

3) where can i find them

Any help would be great.

Thanks.

It depends. If the laptop could originally be specified with better graphics capability, then it's possible that it was provided by a Mobile PCIE card. Certainly with some laptops you can swap cards around but they tend to be frighteningly expensive, only available from the OEM and propriatory to that particular laptop.

Easiest way; sell it and buy a better laptop.

If the graphics are integrated into the mobo you could look at getting a new mobo with better graphics off of the bay or something I guess? Would be a massive PITA though.

But I'd go with Rilots advice, sell it and get a new one.

Yeah, very unlikle it will have a PCIe slot spare. The Intel HD graphics are all integrated.

New laptop I think, so i guess it depends on how desperate you are.

Well it plays Civ 5 on low and min settings and as im not desperate i think that will have to do :) was hust looking for a bit more eye candy lol

Thanks for the replies.
