I have had this for a long time but it finally feel like its dying

I switch it on, lights come on, fans come on but nothing. Doesn't boot into bios. I switch off switch on numberous times and it finally boots.

What is causing this? How do I diagnose?

I haven't done anything new to the laptop.
Search suggested change the CMOS battery which I did, and it didn't change a thing.
Battery plugging in or not doesn't help

Thanks in advance

Connect it to a monitor or tv
Does it do the same?
If it's OK on external display it may just be the screen inverter

No signal on the external display. It's definitely not a display problem.

Normally when powering on, the lights come on, fan comes on, theres a beep and the msi white text comes up. Now, there is no beep, just lights and fans

could be the graphics is on its way out then

Any idea how to confirm this?

And if changing the graphics, how to I even go about finding a suitable upgrade. Any link to some info would be so great.

Thanks
Not really unfortunately
It could also be something like a cracked solder joint or wire which would be why it eventually boots as it warms up
Replacing laptop gpus is usually so expensive it's not worth it
Even if you can get hold of one

I've got the exact laptop and the same problem happened the other day!

A usb stick was plugged in and I simply removed it and it booted fine.

Any ideas on what to do with the GX660 if I buy a new laptop?

I hate to waste

Everything works fine expect the GPU I guess. Have 3 sata hd drives which feel like they'll be wasted as any new laptop would come with a new hd
