Windows XP crashed on a Del laptop and now crashes everytime on loading.

Tried doing a new windows install and it crashes at the same point every time, just before the p"ress r for repair" options list right at the beginning.

Ran memtest which was okay and just in case I changed the memory. No difference.
Did HDD diagnosis which it passed and tried changing hard drive, no difference.

What are the next steps i should be taking to find out the problem?

Hold FN and press the power button.

The machine will go into a self test mode.

Check if theres any errors

Grab an ultimate boot cd (google) and test using prime to see if it crashes. It could rule out heat related issues. Other than that, i'd say you might have a mobo problem. Have you tried a different XP disc?
