Laptop help needed - screen dead...

Need some advice if possible.

If had a lappy for bout 2 years, and recently it occasionally crashed if the screen was moved while it was on. Today when I tried to turn it on, the screen just didnt turn on at all. The power is on, the hdd working, the screen part has power but no picture. It has one long beep when it boots followed by two shorter ones.

Ive tried attaching another monitor to it and switching it to dual view, but that doesnt work either.

Basically is this something that sounds repairable, or am I looking for an insurance claim?

Sounds as if the video lead has come loose, why not simply plug it back in? It'll just be a flat ribbon cable running from the video area of the mainboard to the back of the TFT panel. Will be very obvious once the case is opened.

the only problem is sometimes they are soldered or it might be part of the ribbon cable has split in which case you need to get it fixed ,although this is usually covered in the warrenty
