Laptop help - out of the loop

So I have been given a laptop from work (not new) that I can do what I want with

Dell e5420
I5 2410
4gb
Win 7

Is it worth selling this and putting say 150 in to get something used but better? I'm not sure how good this is. It's mainly the screen I don't like

Thanks. It's nicely made is a shame about the screen, might be cause I'm used to plasma panel and ips
